Alexander McQueen Ready-to-Wear Fall 2010 Collection

Prior to his tragic death, Alexander McQueen‘s fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear collection was about 80% completed. According to his right hand person, Sarah Burton, he turned away modern technology for inspiration. She said, “He wanted to get back to the handcraft he loved, and the things that are being lost in the making of fashion. He was looking at the art of the Dark Ages, but finding light and beauty in it. He was coming in every day, draping and cutting pieces on the stand.” Presented in Paris in February, the show ended with “Each piece is unique, as was he.” Here are the 16 pieces from his final collection:
