Bret Back in the Hospital

A couple weeks ago, 47-year-old Poison rocker and NBC‘s Celebrity Apprentice finalist Bret Michaels was hospitalized due to a brain hemorrhage. Earlier this week, Bret returned to a Los Angeles hospital due to what doctors are calling a “warning stroke” with further tests showing a hole in his heart.

On Bret’s website, a post read that he “was readmitted to the hospital this week after suffering numbness on the left side of his body, predominantly his face and hands, which doctors described as a transient ischemic attack, or warning stroke.”

His physician Joseph Zabramski stated, “the good news is that it is operable and treatable, and we think we may have diagnosed the problem that caused the transient ischemic attack. However, we feel it is highly unlikely this is connected to the brain hemorrhage he suffered a few weeks earlier.”

Bret’s rep Janna Elias wrote a message on his website thanking his fans for all their support saying, “even though these last few months have been tough on him and his family, especially this most recent setback, he is in good spirits, great medical hands and is positive and hopeful that everything is going to be OK. He is up, walking, talking, continuing his daily rehab and very happy to be alive.”

Although the majority of the Celebrity Apprentice finale was filmed last fall, the winner is supposed to be broadcasted live. With the finale coming up this Sunday, NBC was “cautiously optimistic” that Bret would be able to appear at the finale, but with this sudden tragedy, Bret may not be able to make the finale.

  1. I think about who or if they should have anyone to replace him on the celeb apprentice coming up? It’s a shame also on the grounds that i know he would’ve won! As you are able to most likely see, huge Poison fan here! 🙂

  2. Everyone could acknowledge the realistic view that his well being is a lot crucial than a game show! I really wish that he could be able to make it through an entire recovery.

  3. Simply because there are various blogs with totally different points of view, they encourage your understanding. It really is at these moments when you have valuable insignt the rest may not have had, not to mention the blogger him/herself.

  4. Hi there, I don’t come to an agreement with everything in this write-up, but you do make some very excellent points. I’m very curious in this matter and I myself do alot of research as well. Either way it was a well thoughtout and nice read so I figured I would leave you a comment.
