Following the amazingly talented Alexander McQueen‘s suicide this past March, Sarah Burton was left to oversee McQueen’s fall collection. She was formerly the head of design for womenswear working alongside McQueen for the last 16 years and was recently appointed the position of creative director for the label.
In a statement, Sarah said, “The creation of modern, beautifully crafted clothes was at the heart of Lee’s vision. I intend to stay true to his legacy.”
With the news of a successor for the label, the McQueen brand will undoubtedly be strengthen. Sarah’s immediate plan is to release a licensed men’s underwear line this summer.
