Yesterday, I went to visit the Getty Center in Los Angeles up above the I-405. I have only been there once before and that was about twelve years ago. The architecture of the buildings were definitely a lot more beautiful than I remember, and all the works of art were definitely inspiring. I was expecting to see a much larger garden because there are a lot of species of plants, but the garden was kind of small. I am not really a religious person, so I find religious art to be quite preachy and often times creepy and the Getty Center is FULL of this religious art. But anyways, here are some of my favorite pieces from the museum:

I really like the trams they use.

Sphinx on Scrolls

a French cabinet

Heraldic Panel w/ the Arms of the Eberler Family
This stained glass is amazing and the colors are so vibrant.

Covered Goblet w/ Cupid by Marcus Heiden
This goblet is made of ivory!

Dog and Bear; made of bronze

The Story of Joseph by Biagio D’Antonio

The Calydonian Boar Hunt by Peter Paul Rubens

Shipping in a Calm at Flushing w/ a States General Yacht Firing a Salute by Jan van de Cappelle

Fruit Piece by Jan van Huysum

Angel of the Citadel by Marino Marini
Haha, I found this statue hilarious.

Look how dirty our city is.  You can’t even see downtown, but I caught a blimp in the photo!

Irises by Vincent van Gogh
Van Gogh’s designs are simple, but his use of color is so brilliant.

  1. I’ve been exploring via the internet looking for ideas on the way to get my personal website coded, your present style and design are perfect. Did you actually code it your self or did you employ a coder to get it done for you personally?

  2. Wonderful blog! I genuinely love how it is easy on my eyes and the facts is well written. I am wondering how I may be notified whenever a new post has been made. I have subscribed to your rss feed which must do the trick! Have a nice day!
