Magazine: V FASHION Fall 2010
Editorial: City of God
Photographer: Mario Sorrenti
Stylist: Jane How
Model: Natasha Poly (WOMEN)
Dress, MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA ARTISANAL.
In the most recent issue of V FASHION, 25-year-old Russian supermodel Natasha Poly, who was recently the face of Gucci for the spring/summer 2010 season, is featured in an editorial entitled “City of God” translating a religious underworld inspired by the movie “Holy Mountain.”
I was really drawn to this editorial because first of all, I love Natasha and I find everything she’s in to be spectacularly beautiful, but mostly due to the way it feels like they are poking fun at religion. I find that to be very intriguing.
I also love that this editorial does not just show a beautiful girl in perfectly styled designs posed prettily. Instead, the editorial stays true to it’s inspiration showing Natasha with bugs crawling all over her face and licking someone’s fist, but in absolutely stunning designs of course.
Magazine: Numéro #114 June/July 2010
Editorial: Le Dame du Lac (The Dame of the Lake)
Photographer: Jeff Burton
Model: Guinevere van Seenus (IMG)
Stylist: Franck Benhamou
Although many may not find the ghostly white skin beautiful these days especially with all the fake tanners available, I find pale skin to be very beautiful and pure and 32-year-old Guinevere van Seenus embodies that vision in an editorial entitled “Le Dame du Lac” or “The Dame of the Lake” for the 114th issue of Numéro for this June and July. Whimsically shot by photographer Jeff Burton by a dreamy lake, stylist Franck Benhamou dressed Guinevere in designs by the likes of Chanel, Versace, Herve Leger, Lanvin, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, and John Galliano.
Fashion’s finest queer and crude artist AleXsandro Palombo‘s latest subjects are Chanel‘s head designer and creative director Karl Lagerfeld and Vogue‘s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour in a strange baby scenario. I really enjoy these pieces because they are very interesting and definitely evoke a strong emotion.
I randomly came upon the cutest clutch I’ve seen yet from Chanel by their head designer and creative director Karl Lagerfeld. This lucite clear cassette clutch was released a couple of years ago going for $1500 at ShopLuxirare.com. You better get one now before they stop producing this one-of-a-kind clutch!
Magazine: Flare June 2010
Editorial: Hang Ten
Photographer: Max Abadian
Model: Alana Zimmer (FORD)
Stylist: Elizabeth Cabral
For the upcoming issue of Canadian magazine Flare, 22-year-old Canadian model Alana Zimmer is featured in a bright, summery cover shoot entitled “Hang Ten” by photographer Max Abadian in beautiful Barbados. Styled by Elizabeth Cabral, I think Alana looks stunning in these colorful designs really bringing in the summer spirit.
Inspired by Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgwick’s wild relationship, photographer Karl Lagerfeld created a “Factory Story” cover shoot for this month’s issue of French magazine Madame Figaro featuring his current muse 37-year-old French model Vanessa Paradis in Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld designs channeling retro glamour with Karl playing Andy Warhol.
Magazine: Vogue China June 2010
Editorial: Wild Child
Photographer: Dan Jackson
Model: Constance Jablonski (ELITE)
In the upcoming issue of Vogue China, 20-year-old French model Constance Jablonski is featured in an editorial entitled “Wild Child” by photographer Dan Jackson. Constance is presented in front of a dark gray backdrop in some fun and bright summery designs by the likes of Proenza Schouler, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Alexis Bittar, Emilio Pucci, and BCBG Max Azria. I really like this editorial because it really rings in the summer spirit in quite a chic manner.
