Over Thanksgiving weekend, I went to the LA Convention Center to check out the LA Auto Show. To be completely honest, the Auto Show this year seemed a bit lacking and bare minimal compared to previous years. I probably will not be going to the show next year. Here are some of my favorites of the evening:
For the final leg of their 4-year world tour, The Vader Project returns to LA for a 10-day exhibit before their auction next month in Philadelphia at Freeman’s Auction House. The collection consists of 100 re-imagined Darth Vader helmets by some of today’s hottest artists. The exhibit is currently being shown on Melrose until the 20th from noon until 6pm. Here are my favorite designs:
“Carmen Mirandarth” by GIRLS DRAWIN GIRLS; made of acrylic and fake fruit
“Nauga-Vader” by PAUL FRANK; made of upholstery vinyl, acrylic paint, thread, metal
“Voices In My Head” by JEREMYVILLE; made of spray, ink
To end the final leg of their epic 4 year tour, The Vader Project is returning to Hollywood in June for one last 10-day exhibition before the July Freeman auction in Philadelphia. The Vader Project collection features 100 uniquely re-designed Darth Vader helmets from today’s hottest artists such as Simone Legno of Tokidoki, Mister Cartoon, Buff Monster, and Plasticgod.
The preview exhibition in June opens with a reception on Friday, the 11th, with DJs The Crystal Pharoah and The Sucklord from Band of the Lost from 6pm to 10pm. On Saturday, the 12th, over 20 of the featured artists will be having a catalog signing beginning at 2pm with the exhibition running from Saturday, the 12th, until Sunday, the 20th, from noon to 6pm.
