Natasha Poly – V FASHION Fall 2010

Skirt, VIKTOR & ROLF.

Magazine: V FASHION Fall 2010
Editorial: City of God
Photographer: Mario Sorrenti
Stylist: Jane How
Model: Natasha Poly (WOMEN)

Dress, MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA ARTISANAL.

In the most recent issue of V FASHION, 25-year-old Russian supermodel Natasha Poly, who was recently the face of Gucci for the spring/summer 2010 season, is featured in an editorial entitled “City of God” translating a religious underworld inspired by the movie “Holy Mountain.”

I was really drawn to this editorial because first of all, I love Natasha and I find everything she’s in to be spectacularly beautiful, but mostly due to the way it feels like they are poking fun at religion. I find that to be very intriguing.

I also love that this editorial does not just show a beautiful girl in perfectly styled designs posed prettily. Instead, the editorial stays true to it’s inspiration showing Natasha with bugs crawling all over her face and licking someone’s fist, but in absolutely stunning designs of course.

Get Out Your Minis For The Summer

Since the weather is warming up and summer is quickly approaching, it is to no surprise that the mini skirt is one of the hot trends for the season. Fashion stylist Rachel Zoe agrees that the mini skirt is a must-have item this season and comments on why short skirts are great for your figure saying,

“Mini is the length that’s happening right now. Shorter skirts elongate legs.”

Although mini skirts are fun and short, make sure that you compensate the shortness of the skirt by not revealing too much skin everywhere else. Here are some of my favorite mini trends for the season:

Mathilde Frachon (NEXT) in 3.1 Phillip Lim

Tati Cotliar (NEXT) in A.F. Vandevorst

Andreea Diaconu (YES) in ADAM
