On Memorial Day, I went over to the Arts District for We Rise LA in one of the newly-constructed brick facade building. Since it’s Mental Heath Awareness Month, this pop-up event featured art, music, and discussions around mental health. I showed up in time to catch Dan the Automator on the roof at sunset and here are some photos from the night:

I visited LACMA, Los Angeles Country Museum of Art, today with Jeff and discovered an exhibit filled with Picasso and Matisse!! I was absolutely inspired with their use of color and shapes. I also saw the Tibetan exhibit filled with many trunks and statues. I didn’t get a chance to visit all the exhibits currently on view, but here are my favorites from what I saw today:

Yesterday, I went to visit the Getty Center in Los Angeles up above the I-405. I have only been there once before and that was about twelve years ago. The architecture of the buildings were definitely a lot more beautiful than I remember, and all the works of art were definitely inspiring. I was expecting to see a much larger garden because there are a lot of species of plants, but the garden was kind of small. I am not really a religious person, so I find religious art to be quite preachy and often times creepy and the Getty Center is FULL of this religious art. But anyways, here are some of my favorite pieces from the museum:

Enjoying the ocean breeze with a taste of historic art pieces, I visited the Getty Villa yesterday in Pacific Palisades with Jeff for the Aztec Pantheon exhibit that is running until July 5th. The weather was slightly overcast, but beautiful none the less. Being surrounded by some spectacular Roman architecture and sculptures was very relaxing and quite inspiring.
